Weston Lake was a nice observation along the trail with a little outlook dock. This snapping turtle was very interested in our presence. I would imagine he’s been subjected to bread and cracker visitors in the past and was looking for another snack. This is a good example of how feeding wildlife makes them more dependent on human encounters and less dependent for their own survival. It also takes away from their natural fear of humans and can present more dangerous encounters for both the animal and humans involved (like wild cats, bears, and boars).
