Cooking with a dutch oven

When you think of camping, you think of a fire, and you probably think of roasting hot dogs over this fire. Realistically, is there anything else you need? Probably not, but when I'm going camping in…Continue

Cooking with a dutch oven

When you think of camping, you think of a fire, and you probably think of roasting hot dogs over this fire. Realistically, is there anything else you need? Probably not, but when I'm going camping in a place that I can drive to, I like to bring along a dutch oven. If I don't make dinner in the oven then I at least want dessert. On April first I began my season of camping under the stars. In Northern Utah this is crazy, because today it's snowing, and we're expecting more snow, but my friend Jeff and I were determined to go without the tent no matter the weather. Luckily the man upstairs was looking out for us and we reaped the benefits of a warm front, right before a storm came in. The temp was high enough that I wore shorts! I still had a winter jacket, but my legs were plenty warm. (maybe I'm just that… Continue

Hope your break in Zions was awesome! If you'd rather do the cleanup on the 16th, I'd be able to, just not early in the morning. Want to help me with a project? It involves a little flying... :) PS. there's a REI State Parks presentation happening on Thursday that I'm heading to. It's on here if you want to check it out, and join the fun.
