Concrete Safaris City Surfers- Biking Randalls Island

The season is changing and so are we! Day by day we make sure to get our homework done, learn about healthy foods and snacks, and get our exercise in. Our first large group bike trip was to Randalls Island Playground, a 4-mile round trip trek. It’s always amazing to see how fast and efficient our students can get their homework done outside in the fresh air, especially if some of their peers are already playing! Here is the group posing in front of the RFK bridge (aka triboro)

Todays lesson was about staying together and complying with cycling rules. Sometimes we forget that we are not the only cyclists on the road, but every mistake has a solution. That is why we discuss ways to minimize those mistakes from ever happening again. In this photo, a small group was complemented by a random biker. She said, “You kids are doing a great job biking and you’re so courteous, have a great day!”. Every day we learn and today was no different.
Remember courtesy counts-- You have to give it, to get it!
